PKM project which is 392 kilometers long, is the largest transportation infrastructure project in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and also one of the key projects of the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative. The Chinese and Pakistani governments attach great importance to this project, listed it as an “Early Harvest Project” of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and took it as major project to be promoted under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Joint Cooperation Committee. The project is a high standard highway with the highest design level, the most advanced intelligent system, the only greening along the entire route, and a flood resistance level of once-in-a-century in Pakistan. The project was officially handed over and put into operation on December 16, 2020, and won the The Luban Prize for Construction Project for Overseas Projects in 2020.
